Plano Progredir allows companies to offer jobs and income to low income people

The Ministry of Social Development has created actions that facilitate the access of people to the world of work.

The Plan Progredir was launched on September 26, 2017, with the objective of facilitating the access of low-income people enrolled in the Single Registry for Social Programs of the Federal Government (people with per capita family income up to ½ minimum wage or total family income of up to 3 minimum salaries) to qualification, employment and income opportunities, primarily the beneficiaries of the Bolsa Família Program.

Focusing on social development, the Plan operates in three axes: professional qualification; entrepreneurship and labor intermediation.

Progredir created the Social Development Partners Network to strengthen the Federal Government’s union with institutions committed to promoting good practices of social responsibility.

Companies, non-profit organizations and representative entities from different sectors will work together with the Plan, playing a prominent role in offering job opportunities and professional qualification (in the form of traineeships, young apprenticeships or training courses for the workers), with the purpose of contributing to a dignified life, guaranteeing the financial autonomy of people in extreme poverty.

“No one can starve, but Bolsa Família should not be a life project,” said the Minister of Social Development, Osmar Terra.

The Social Development Partners receive selected curricula according to the profiles of the candidates and the vacancies; are recognized by the public authorities as entities acting in social responsibility actions, through the hiring of workers registered in the Cadastro Único and participate in events promoted by the Network of Partners.

People benefiting from the Progress who have their high income will stay for at least another two years in the Bolsa Família Program until they achieve financial emancipation. Should any unforeseen events occur during this period, the return is guaranteed.

Increasingly, companies are looking for mechanisms to support social responsibility initiatives. Research from the Reputation Institute conducted between January and February this year shows that in the assessment of consumers on the reputation of a company, social responsibility weighs 41%.

The development sought by the Brazilian State is necessarily linked to social progress, with the eradication of poverty, reduction of inequalities and promotion of the common good. Be a Progress Partner!
